LADY GAGA - ME AND MY PIANO

This piece was an interesting one to do. It took me a while, and several sketch ideas,
to come up with a direction I wanted to go in. Every photo you see of her, she looks
different; like a chameleon. It’s impossible to catch the magnitude of one of her
amazing shoes in a drawing. Not only does she design the costumes; lay out the
basic ideas for the shows; write the songs; learn the dance routines, and then
perform the music. . This is ONE extremely talented, dedicated, driven and
hardworking woman. Her passion for quality is monumental.
I chose the name “ME AND MY PIANO” for this reason. The shows are a spectacle;
totally entertaining and of high quality. I love it when she sits down at the piano and
tells a little background history of how she started and in the days of no money, it
was just her and her piano. The thing is, she is just as captivating whether she’s
hanging from a wire singing, or just one on one at the piano. The quality, passion,
truth and musicianship is still overwhelming, This Lady can keep you at the edge of
your seat; holding your breath, and wanting for more. Lady Gaga is not interested in
being known as a celebrity, she wants to be known as a good musician.
Here’s a few fun pointers on what you are looking at and why:
The black and white “piano keys that separate the two faces represent just that: the
piano keys that she loves so much. They look like a headpiece on an Egyptian
Goddess; similar to the exotic and elaborate outfits she wears. The keys also
resemble and may represent a musical “treble clef” due to its shape. The lines that
separate the keys are songs that she has done. The first nine “black keys” (above Me
and My Piano), are her Albums. Then come her live shows and tours, and lastly, the
Awards she has earned.
The FACES: Mostly made up of song lyrics pertaining to that part of the face.
Top one:
Eyes: “you’re music to my eyes”, “In your brown eyes” I couldn’t stay - You watch
her go”. “How I lost you”. “Watched you walk away”
Nose: “ Fancy pants” is a reference to the young ladies she sees out snorting cocaine.
Mouth: “I’ve got blonde hair and cherry lips” “Plastic Doll”
Gaga’s real name: Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotto is on her chin. Other
personal info is around there.
You will also find some of her quotes in her hair “ I’m as free as my hair” and “mom
will cut my hair at night”.
Bottom Face:

Nose: “I love her nose”
